Amsterdam's Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra has launched a video magazine app to celebrate its 125th anniversary.

The app, called RCO Editions, will have six issues a year and will include live video recordings of the orchestra as well as articles exploring themes around the music.

The first issue, available to download now for free, is called Mozart: on the Road and includes a video of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra's performance of Mozart's Paris and Prague Symphonies conducted by Sir John Eliot Gardiner. There is also a short documentary about Gardiner's interpretation of the Prague Symphony.

Future issues will cost €4.49. The second edition, Tod und Verklärung, will focus on the music of Richard Strauss and Gustav Mahler, with a contribution from conductor Marin Alsop.

The app, paid for through private donations, will host six issues per year and is available now from the App Store.
