It’s been one of the most popular and much-discussed dramas of recent years, and now a third series of the sparkling Regency romp Bridgerton is arriving on our screens. But when can we feast our eyes on the new series, and what music can we expect to hear?
When is Bridgerton Season 3 out?
You can catch the first four episodes of Bridgerton Season 3 on Netflix from Thursday 16 May 2024. The final four episodes will be released on Thursday 13 June.
What music features in the third season of Bridgerton?
Like previous seasons, Season 3 features a smattering of pop hits given a string quartet makeover. Getting the chamber music treatment this time around are tracks by Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Pitbull, Nick Jonas, and Korean boyband sensation BTS.
Here are the pop tracks that get a classical music makeover in the first four episodes of Season 3:
- Gayle ‘abcdefu’, covered by Vitula (Episode 1)
- BTS ‘Dynamite’, covered by Vitamin String Quartet (Episode 2)
- Nick Jonas ‘Jealous’, covered by Shimmer (Episode 2)
- Sia ‘Cheap Thrills’, covered by Vitamin String Quartet (Episode 3)
- Billie Eilish ‘Happier Than Ever’, covered by Vitamin String Quartet (Episode 3)
- Taylor Swift and Lana Del Rey ‘Snow on the Beach’ by Atwood Quartet (Episode 4)

Who composed the Bridgerton score?
The score is written by composer Kris Bowers. He has composed both the sumptuous original score and the string quartet arrangements of pop hits.
Bowers has previously composed scores for film, TV and video games. His best known score is for the Academy Award-winning 2018 film Green Book, inspired by a tour of the Deep South by African American pianist Don Shirley and his driver. The film blended Bowers's original score with recordings of Shirley himself.
undefinedWhat happens in Bridgerton Season 3?
Once again, the show follows the fortunes of the eight siblings of the powerful Bridgerton family, as they negotiate love and polite society in Regency London. And, as before, the season will zoom in on the romantic adventures of one of the Bridgerton siblings. This season, we follow Colin Bridgerton (played by Luke Newton) and his friendship (and budding romance) with Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan), youngest of the Featherington sisters.
Is Bridgerton based on a book?
Yes indeed. The hit series is based on a collection of eight novels, known as the Bridgerton Series, by the American author Julia Quinn.
The first season followed the plot of the first book, The Duke and I, whose heroine is Daphne Bridgerton, the oldest daughter (played by Phoebe Dynevor). Season 2 drew on the second book, The Viscount Who Loved Me, with its focus on Anthony Bridgerton (played by Jonathan Bailey) and his pursuit of the debutante Edwina Sheffield (Edwina Sharma in the Netflix series, played by Charithra Chandran).
Season 3 jumps a book to focus on the third book in the series, Romancing Mr Bridgerton, which follows Colin and Penelope's blossoming romance.
