Voiceover artist, composer and writer Emma Clarke is to join BBC Radio 3’s presenter lineup as the new host of Saturday Breakfast from 5 October 2024.
She replaces Elizabeth Alker, who has chosen to leave the programme after five years at the helm. Alker will continue to present Unclassified and to be a member of the Classical Live presenting team.
Who is Emma Clarke?
A classical guitarist, Emma Clarke is a composer for Britten Sinfonia Opus 1 and a four-time composition winner at the World Classical Music awards.
Her voiceover work can be heard on radio, TV, inside talking toys, in supermarkets, telephone systems and on public transport. She is one of the voices of the London Underground, advising commuters to ‘mind the gap'. She can also be heard on hundreds of adverts, podcasts, games and apps.
On radio she has presented programmes for BBC Radio Manchester and 5 Live. She was also featured as a performer and writer in shows on BBC Radio 4 and BBC Radio 2. As an author she has written books, plays, sketches and sitcoms for radio, television and the stage.

Saturday Breakfast broadcasts weekly on Radio 3 from 6.30-9am.
