Earlier this month, BBC Radio 3 broadcasted its first live concerts at London's Wigmore Hall following the UK lockdown. It now plans to broadcast a week of Lunchtime Concerts from City Halls in Glasgow in from Tuesday 14 to Friday 17 July.

The roster of performers is set to include pianists Steven Osborne and Julia Lynch, percussionist Colin Currie, bass-baritone Michael Mofidian, harpsichordist John Butt and tenor Thomas Walker.

Performing to an empty hall, the musicians will comply with all the government's social distancing guidelines with a producer backstage, a sound engineer, presenter and member of City Halls staff present in the auditorium.

The concerts will be broadcast live on BBC Radio 3 – which can also be listened to online on BBC Sounds – and streamed live in HD quality on the City Halls website.
