We are excited to announce that two concerts from this year's Verbier Festival are going to be streamed, via Medici TV, on the BBC Music Magazine website, competely free of charge.
On Thursday 24 July at 6pm you can enjoy a performance of works by Rossini, Rachmaninov and Prokofiev from Yuri Temirkanov and the Verbier Festival Orchestra. The evening will begin with Rossini’s Overture from The Barber of Seville before Daniil Trifonov joins the orchestra for Rachmaninov’s explosive Piano Concerto No. 3. The third piece on the programme is Prokofiev’s historical cantata Alexandre Nevsky, performed by mezzo-soprano Ekaterina Semenchuk.

On Tuesday 29 July at 10am watch Steven Isserlis and Mikhail Pletnev perform two works by Glazunov - the Oeuvre pour piano solo annoncée ultérieurement and Two Pieces for Cello and Piano, Op. 20, along with Britten’s lyrical Cello Suite No. 3, Op. 87. Also on the programme is Pletnev’s own Cello Sonata, composed in 2006.
