We’ve teamed up with the Manchester Camerata to live stream one of the orchestra’s concerts, exclusively here on our website.
This Saturday watch a concert of works inspired by love – including pieces by Webern, Brahms and Tchaikovsky, live from the Royal Northern College of Music.
This Portrait of Love concert opens with a performance of Webern’s Langsamer Satz which was inspired by the composer’s future wife, Wilhelmine Mörtl. Brahms’s Liebeslieder Waltzes follow and then mezzo-soprano Anna Stephany joins the orchestra for Dvořák's Love Songs in an arrangement by David Matthews. Tchaikovsky’s Souvenir de Florence – dedicated to the patron he never met, Nadezhda von Meck – closes the concert.
The concert starts at 7.30pm and we’ll also be tweeting about the concert with the hashtag #CamerataPortraits.
